Sauvie Island

On Saturday we went to the pumpkin patch in Sauvie Island, which is 16.5 miles long and 6.5 miles wide, and has 26,000 acres, is the largest island along the Columbia River.
We went with 3 other couples and their kids, the weather was really nice when we left but when we got there it was raining A LOT, but it was pretty fun.
Este sabado pasado fuimos a un huerto de calabazas en una isla llamada Sauvie, la cual mide 16.5 millas de largo y 6.5 millas de ancho y tiene 26 mil acres, y es la isla mas grande a lo largo del rio columbia. Fuimos con otras 3 parejas y sus hijos y de ida estaba el clima bien bonito pero al llegar estaba lloviendo bien fuerte, pero aun nos divertimos mucho.

There was a little barn that had ducks, chickens, goats and a few other animals. Massey kept calling all the animals "guau guau", which is the noise a dog makes in spanish..it was so funny.

This was a little market, they had fresh produce and it was packed.
It reminded me a lot of Mexico.
Este era como un mercadito, y tenian verduras frescas, me recordo del mercadito
de Culiacan porque estaba retacado.

Oh, this is my cool double stroller, which I found on Craigslist last friday. A girl was selling for $60.00 and I offered $40.00 and she totally accepted, I couldn't believe it! it even has a cool steering wheel for Massey. It feels like I'm pushing a little train, it's actually kind of cool.

Esta es la carriola doble que compre el viernes pasado por $40.00, la muchacha que la vendia acepto mi oferta a pesar que la estaba vendiendo por $60.00. A Massey le encanta especialmente ya que tiene un manubrio chiquito que hace ruido. Parece que ando empujando un trenecito, bien chilo.

Happy and a little homesick

Well, it's been about 2 1/2 weeks since we've been in Portland and we're still pretty happy but I'm a little bit homesick. I've started exercising with my friend and neighbor Whitney and I think its been helping me. The kids are doing good, Massey seems to really like it, he especially likes the common area in the back, it's pretty much our backyard because no one seems to ever go there. Jordan is starting his 2nd week of school and he really likes it. He's already working on a dead guy whom he named Peter because he doesn't know his real name. Well here are some more pics of last week. My sister Esther really wanted pics of our apartment, so I took some. I'll post some of the bedroom later when they're clean.
Pues ya llevamos 1 semanas y media desde que llegamos a Portland y aun estamos felices aunque yo ya empiezo a extrañar un poco a la familia. He empezado a ir a correr con mi amiga y vecina Whitney y creo que me esta ayudando bastante. Los niños estan bien, a Massey le gusta mucho especialmente el patio trasero que es compartido por 4 apartamentos, pero es casi de nosotros porque nadie lo usa. Jordan ya empezo su 2nda semana en la escuela y le gusta mucho ya empezo a disseccionar un cadaver a quien le puso el nombre de Peter porque no sabe su nombre de verdad. Bueno pues aqui estan unas fotos de esta semana pasada. Estercita queria fotos de nuestro apartamento y aqui puse algunas, luego que limpie las recamaras pongo mas fotos.

On Saturday we went to Costco for the 1st time and on our way home we stopped by one of the many Marina's on the Columbia River.
El sabado fuimos a Costco por 1ra vez y de regreso pasamos a ver la marina al lado del rio Columbia.

It was pretty windy and I had to feed Rebecca so I went to the car and after 10 minutes this is what her face looked like. Isn't she delicious looking? Sometimes I feel like eating those cheeks in a taco.
Estaba haciendo algo de aire y la bebe tenia hambre asi que me meti al carro a darle de comer y despues de 10 minutos asi tenia la cara. Aveces me dan ganas de comerme esos cachetotes
Last Friday Western States had a barbecue for all the students and their families.
El viernes pasado hubo un barbeque para las familias en la escuela de Jordan.

After the barbeque we were invited to play games at the Bateman's house. they're from Canada and are super nice. Their son Benson is about 7 months older than Massey and he kept trying to sit on Massey, we thought it was funny because it was karma from when he sat on his cousing Nigel.
Despues del barbeque fuimos a la casa de unos amigos que son de Canada a jugar juegos de mesa y tienen un niño llamado Benson que es 7 meses mayor que Massey y queria sentarse arriba de el, a nosotros nos dio risa porque el hizo lo mismo con su primito Nigel.
Last monday we went to the international test garden to celebrate Jordan's 1st day of school and it was beautiful, Massey fell asleep on the way there but woke up after 20 minutes.
El lunes pasado fuimos a un jardin de flores, sumamente bonito a festejar el 1er dia de clases de Jordan. Massey se durmio al llegar pero se desperto despues de 20 minutos.

We're finally in Portland and we LOVE it!! We can't thank our families enough for all the help and support they gave us. We wouldn't be this happy if it wasn't for all you've done for us. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

This is Beca, Massey's 1st and only friend so far. Her parents are our managers, Josh and Whitney and they're also our neighbors and now our good friends.

Brad went to Law school here in Portland more than 20 years and they

hadn't been back since then and this used to be their old house.

We went to see the Multnomah falls..they were breathtaking.

This is the school where Jordan will be attending for the next couple of years. I'm so proud of him.

Josh and Whitney invited us over to their place to play games and here I'm with Beca and Massey. They're still not sure if they like each other...she's kind of afraid of Massey...

Today we went to a Potluck that Jared (a chiropractic student) organized at the church so that all the new students and their families could meet. It was fun.

Hoy fuimos a una cena que nos invito un estudiante quiropractico que organizo en la iglesia para que los nuevos estudiantes pudieran conocerse. Fue divertido.

Afterwards we went to see the school. I hadn't seen it. We also wanted to Massey to run around some more in the grass. Here we have a future chiroprator with the two most beautiful children (their mom's opinion of course)

Despues de la cena fuimos a ver la escuela de Jordan ya que yo no lo conocia. Tambien queriamos que Massey corriera en el cesped. Aqui esta el futuro quiropractico con los hijos mas bonitos del mundo (opinion de la madre)
