11 Year-old's Campout to Pig Rock

This was on the way out to Pig Rock.

You can kind of see the pig in this picture.

Here's Aleki and Nate with Brother Smith starting the campfire. We camped right up against the rock to try and get protection from the wind. It was still really windy though.

This is another shot of camp, before it started snowing. It snowed about until midnight and it was a wet snow that froze overnight. The ice probably worked as insulation because we were all still alive in the morning and no one lost any limbs.

You can see the snow in these pictures from Saturday morning. I think a lot of it had melted already.

This was a great campout eventhough it was really cold in the wet snow. The desert and rocks on the way to Pyramid Lake are beautiful and it is a fun place to camp.

My brother David is back from his mission

My brother David just got back from his mission last week and it was super exciting having seeing him again after 2 long years. He served in the Houston, Texas Mission and we're happy to say that he returned with honor. Sometime next year, we'll be saying good bye to my other brother Sam. We're happy to have David back and what a blessing it is to have so many returned missionaries in our families, including my husband Jordan. I look up to all those missionaries who spend 2 years of their lives serving the Lord and do it with love and are true to their calling. I hope that Massey's testimony can be strong enough and understand the long lasting effect serving a mission will have in his life and will want to go when the time comes.

It's a Girl!!

Well, it looks like we're having a girl!! Dr. Najima said she was 90% sure and we couldn't be happier. I still can't believe it, I can't imagine having a tiny little girl and a 17 month old at home 24/7.
We're very happy.

Massey turns a year

Massey turned a year old a couple weeks ago and we had a little fiesta. It was really fun organizing a little party for our baby. Even though, Massey won't remember it, we, will remember it and when he grows a little older, I'm sure he'll feel very special when he looks at his pictures. We had a car theme birthday party, and I tried really, really hard to make him a car cake and this is what it looked like. Now that I see the cake on the picture, I have to agree with Jordan that it's pretty..."funny looking".
Pues nuestro bebe ya no es un bebe, ahora es un niño de un año! le hicimos una fiestecita en la casa de mis suegro para celebrar su cumpleaños hace unas semanas, y decoramos con carritos, hasta trate de hacer un pastel de carro, pero me salio todo "raro", intente hacer volteado de piña, pero me salio poquito durito, aqui estan las fotos.

Now, I picked out some of my favorite pictures of every month of our little bundle of joy, just to see how much he had changed, and boy was I surprised!! Sometimes it feels likes it was yesterday that we were holding this tiny little baby.

The lastest news

Well, lots of things have been going on at the Anderson's, I should be better at keeping this blog updated but I seriously can't do it. It seems like every time I try to post something, the phone rings or Massey poops or cries or something happens. I admire all those mom who are so diligent at keeping their blogs updated, like my sister-in-law Camille, she's amazing.
Well, on tuesday Jordan got a letter in the mail that said "congratulations on your acceptance to western states chiropractic college". So we're moving to Portland, Oregon. We're in the process of deciding whether Jordan should start in the fall or the winter semester. I still can't imagine living away from our families but I guess I'll find out in a few months. Congratulations Jordan!
Also, as many of you may already know, we're expecting our 2nd baby and even though this baby decided to come a few months early, we couldn't be happier. We're trying to stay positive and think of the future with optimism since we'll probably face some hard challenges later. It helps me so much that Jordan is such as happy husband and is always so positive, and has such a good sense of humor. Well, I'm currently 17 weeks and 5 days and in less than 3 weeks we'll get to find out the sex of the baby, everything seems to be good in there. Massey is also much better, he was sick with RSV and we were afraid he'd have to be hospitalized but he's a tough boy and is getting better. He's no longer contagious, he only has a little cough that should go away soon.
Well, this is it for now...this month has sure been a rough one, I can't wait till the spring.

This was a pretty good week. I have really started his application to Chiropractic school and Ruth and Massey are getting along great since he is sleeping through the night. Reno is pretty right now because it is overcast and it has been raining the past couple of days. Yesterday I was home alone with Massey for a couple of hours while Ruth went to a baby shower for Nikki Farnsworth. Massey was really cute and well-behaved and we had lots of fun while mom was gone. I set up the living-room computer and discovered that I really needed a new keyboard so Massey and I went to Savers and bought one for $3. He never cried and all of the old ladies in Savers loved him.
This week I'll finish my application hopefully and I'll let everyone know if I get in to Chiropractic school.

Me and Ruth on our first date alone for a long time. We ate at El Pescador, our favorite Mexican seafood place, and then went to the Grand Sierra (formerly the Hilton) and watched the latest James Bond movie. The theater there is the cheapest in town and has rows of love seats!

A memorable trip

Well, as many of you know. Jordan, Massey and I went down to Culiacan, Sinaloa Mexico for two weeks. There were several reasons why we went this year, first of all, we had been planning a trip since last year but got pregnant sick and was pretty impossible. Second reason, we really wanted to celebrate our 2nd anniversary and be able to remember it this time, since last year I was super pregnant and have no memory of that day, and the last reason...I was dying to see my family. Last time I was there I was 12 years old.
It was such a fun trip and there aren't words to describe how I felt when I saw all my cousins, uncles and aunts. They are all amazing people and treated us very nice. Massey loved having lots of attention and he made lots of friends. The weather was amazing and the food was fabulous.
We took hundreds of pictures and hours of video, so that we'll never forget this trip and when Massey grows a little older he can learn of this trip.
Here are some pictures I really wanted to post, they're not really in order...I believe I started with the last day.

As you can see, Massey is totally sad to be back...here we're at my parents' and he's just completely missing Mexico.

Every thursday night, at the plazuela or the heart of culiacan, people simply gather around this "kiosko" and listen to banda...people just dance even if they don't have a dancing partner. We went to check it out and it was awesome.

I asked my aunt Dalmira (my mom's sister) if she could take me to the cemetary to see my sister Rebeca's grave and I had forgotten that my uncle Pilar, my aunt Evangelina, and my grandma were also buried there. I was happy to see that a statue of Christ being resurrected rested at the head of the grave with my grandma's favorite scripture engraved on the book you see.
My cousin Ahmed and his girlfriend Brenda (possible future wife) and their son. They invited us the night before we left to dinner at "El Panama".
My cousin Helaman, invited us to the movie theater, and he never told us that were were in the VIP section...it was cool!

Jordan thought so too. Apparently all seats do that...and there's waiters at your service in case you'll like to order food while the movie is playing, you simply raise your hand and they come...they're also a menu between each seat.
WOW

We stopped to get "raspados", or Mexican snow cones, I don't know but they taste so good! Daniela is Helaman's wife and is 3 months pregnant, and Joel is my other cousin, Helaman's brother.

Earlier that day, Helaman took us to "El Altata" beach now called "Isla Cortes". Massey got to play with sea shells and play and eat real sand.

We had lunch at this beautiful place, we could've swam in the pool, but everyone thought it was cold...so we felt weird being the only ones swimming, so we decided not to.

Yes, this was our lunch. Shrimp and other amazing sea food coated in bread crumbs.

We were invited to "una carne asada", which is the same thing as a "barbeque" but Mexican style. We had shrimp and carne asada and lots of quesadillas. These are my cousins, aunt and uncles on my mom's side of the family. Lots were still missing.

My cousin Ahmed and his girlfriend Brenda and their son Brandon. I think Ahmed is really considering getting married, because he asked Jordan about married life. We also told him how important it was for his son to have a dad at home and before we left he told us he would probably marry her.All my cousin who came that day, and my uncle Camis who wanted to be part of the picture, he's way in the back , you can barely see him. He's so funny!My cousin Sergio and my cousin Pily, we three used to play together when we were little. By the way, we're all 25 years old.

Earlier that morning after church, there was a rooster in the middle of the street and my cousin Jesus Angel, decided to chase it...

The church building was the nicest building in the whole block. I happy to see that people really keep it clean and beautiful.

The day before (Saturday), we went to the "Isla de Oraba", it's like a big park divided by this beautiful river...can't remember what the river is called.

Martincito and I bought a "pirulin"...which is simply a sugar lollipop dipped in chili powder..I also bought a coconut...it was really good.

After we went to the Isla de Oraba, we went to eat "tamales de puerco" pork tamales at my aunt Roxana's home. Here she is with her two daughters. She is my dad's sister-in-law, my uncle pasted away a couple years ago. We got lots of video This is the night before, my cousin Martincito turned 15 and he had a fun party, half of these kids are my cousins. I hadn't met most of them.
